SFist is not personally a car owner, but our frequent companion is. We can't tell you the number of times we've driven from our home in the Sunset to the cheap gas station on Divis and Fell (you know the one we're talking about), only to discover that their price was no better than the prices in the rest of the city.

And prices all over the city are terrible. It's become such a trite topic of conversation, but it's hard not to be shocked when we realize we just spent 35 bucks on enough gas to get us through our usual weekend routine of gym, SPCA, Target, and groceries.

We've found a way to ease the pain somewhat with GasBuddy. a site describing itself as "the most comprehensive listings of gas prices anywhere by far". You guys, this is so cool. This navigation will take you to your Bay Area options, and you can choose your specific area to see the best and worst prices. As of this writing, you can get a gallon for $1.93 in San Anselmo - go!

It's also fun to look at other states and areas. In SFist's hometown, you can get a gallon of gas for $1.77, which is still not enough of a reason to move back there.
