Steven King's horror classic Carrie is coming to the Castro theater tonight. Coincidentially, Carrie was also recently made available on Netflix.

At the same time, you could choose to watch the 2013 remake, which is available on both Google Play and Amazon... for $14.99.

For those of you wondering which of the proms-gone-wrong you should take in, consider these points:

  • Paying for anything is the absolute worst.

  • The original inspired Raja's Season 3 Rupaul's Drag Race look, not the remake

  • The original can be either watched from your couch or as part of a double-feature showing with Christine, another Stephen King flick about a homicidal car
  • Kick-Ass star Chloë Grace Moretz is pretty kick-ass, but she's no Sissy Spacek

Christine plays at 7:15 p.m. tonight, and the Castro is nicely air conditioned, FYI. Carrie comes on at 9:25.

Here are the trailers for both versions:

Just remember, if you don't see either one, they're all gonna laugh at you.
