National:

  • Police arrested 100 Jewish Voice for Peace protestors taking part in a sit-in outside Trump Tower in New York City yesterday, including Jewish elders, descendants of Holocaust survivors, and students. The group called the sit-in “a mass refusal of the Trump administration’s fascist agenda.” [NBC News]
  • State Farm has been given approval by California regulators to increase rates by an average of 22% for homeowners, 15% for condo owners, and 15% for renters — as long as the insurance agency agrees not to drop any more customers in mass quantities. This is on top of the rate increase that was instituted in March 2024. [Chronicle]
  • Columbia has expelled, suspended and revoked the diplomas of numerous students who took part in a pro-Gaza protest on campus last spring. Additionally, the Trump administration is demanding that the university take immediate measures to gain back $400 million in government funding, including banning face masks and increasing its law enforcement authority.
